Suma-Getsuスマ月 · smart month-end
An internal web app that takes the month-end paperwork off an accounting team's desk. It files documents to a fixed rule, runs an AI check and summary on each one, and merges everything into a single PDF. I led the team that built it.

The problem
Every month an accounting team handled about 200 documents by hand: renaming, filing, checking, finding, sorting and combining them for review. Thirteen steps, roughly 40 hours a month, and every manual step a chance for a small, recurring mistake.
Onward Holdings is a TSE Prime-listed apparel group whose labels include 23区, J.PRESS and Joseph. Onward Digital Lab, its digital arm, brought the problem to IPUT's Regional Co-Creation Design Practicum.
What we built
A Vue 3 front end over a Spring Boot service. The service talks to Box through its API with JWT authentication, applies the filing rule, sends each document through an AI check that also writes a short summary, and uses Apache PDFBox to merge the selected documents into one file. Besides saving time, it removed a recurring source of human error.
My role
I was group leader for the whole project, running a five-person team drawn from different departments, from the first brief to the final presentation. The team, as named on the award certificate:
- 佐野遥
- 木村海翔
- ティニシュスブラマニアム
- 中島陽向
- 粟野大哉
Result
First place in Onward's in-company co-creation competition and second place university-wide: IPUT's 地域共創デザイン実習 優秀賞, signed by the university's president 村上憲郎, formerly president of Google Japan. The head of Onward's DX department came to the school to present it in person.
We are continuing with Onward toward turning it into a product.
